A while ago Cahoot Coworking was invited to participate in AWS Activate, and some of our members are already taking advantage of the perks from the program.

If you’re not familiar with the program, Amazon Web Services (AWS) offers a program to help startups through free credits on their AWS platform, with online training and business level support. The benefits of letting Amazon deal with the hassles of infrastructure are many, and we won’t go into detail here. Basically you can do anything from sending and receiving email, hosting static content, deploying virtual private servers and much much more.

Amazon has a long history of supporting startups, and many companies including Pinterest, Dropbox, Slack, AirBnb and Spotify have grown in the AWS ecosystem. Not to mention giants such as Expedia, Samsung, Adobe and Time inc.

Our website — all though a lot smaller than the ones above — is also hosted on AWS, and we use their Lambda and SES features for a lot of our automation, invoicing and backend. When you sign up as a member, book a tour or a new invoice is created, we’ll know right away — as we use AWS Lambda to get it posted to our Slack board.

This proves that AWS can power any business – big or small!

What does this mean for Cahoot Members?

Qualifying members at Cahoot can, through the AWS Activate Program, receive:

  • AWS credits up to $5000 (expires in 2 years)
  • Tokens to get AWS Essentials and self-paced labs for free
  • AWS Business support (up to $5000)

To learn more, get in touch with us – or drop by our coworking space for a chat and a cup of coffee!
